About

I am a Canadian writer whose work regularly appears in major speculative fiction markets. Many of of my stories have been selected for year’s best anthologies, and have been translated internationally.

My books include time travel adventure Gods, Monsters and the Lucky Peach, which was a finalist for both the Hugo and Nebula awards. The highly regarded Subterranean Press published my first short fiction collection Alias Space and Other Stories, and 2022 saw the publication of my stoner  buddy comedy with fairies High Times in the Low Parliament.

I have been a finalist for the Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy, Aurora, Theodore Sturgeon, and Locus awards. In 2017, I was a finalist for the Astounding Award for Best New Writer, and in 2018, my story “A Human Stain” won a Nebula Award.

I grew up in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. When I was a teenager I competed in barrel racing and was crowned princess of the Hinton Big Horn Rodeo. From 2008 to 2012, I wrote the wine and spirits column for Chatelaine, Canada’s largest women’s magazine. After many years in Vancouver, my wife (SF writer A.M. Dellamonica) and I now make our home in the heart of Toronto.
